Auchan cleverly installed his first dark store in basement of one of the shops. The French food retail chain has started testing a model of ultra-fast shopping deliveries at its supermarket in Bordeaux.
The warehouse was a spacious cellar of the market, in which about 1.500 types of products were placed. Employees should collect products from shelves and refrigerators in 4 minutes and deliver orders to the customer in a maximum of 15 minutes.
Couriers (Employees) completing orders - this solution is rather unusual for dark stores. Will it work in the long run?
